So Elizabeth doesn't want to obey Grampa this morning, and only when faced with threat of certain discipline does she comply. Gramma hears her muttering from the other room, "He's so mean . . . Mom's gonna get rid of him . . ." Not too much risk of that. Grampa's too invaluable as a reader of books to Littlest, builder of snowman, retriever of naughty dogs, and chauffeur of Mom.
